Taco Tuesdays are happening: If you’ve enjoyed a day exploring our Baja desert, kicking back at the playa or looking at Los Cabos real estate there is a good chance you came across a taco stand or two. Our famous Baja tacos are traditionally fish, shrimp or some other type of fresh seafood yet the combination of tortilla and fillings is endless as our local food scene leaders are known to think way outside the box.

One could write a lengthy essay on the Baja taco scene, however Tuesdays are always special as some of our favorite spots step it up with Taco Tuesday!

Casa Calavera at Vidanta in San Jose del Cabo has unlimited tacos for $450 MX pesos or about $25 USD. And last week they featured 2 X 1 Budweiser beer! – local tip – free valet parking with a stamp from the restaurant. This hot spot has a great Mexican vibe and sits on a prime piece of ocean front real estate with amazing views stretching all the way to Palmilla Point. Casa Calavera

La Lupita Tacos and Mezcal in the Historic District of San Jose del Cabo is another great choice for this special day of the week. Right across the street from The Agency Los Cabos, this popular hangout is bustling every Tuesday often with a long line stretching out the door. 2 X 1 Pastor, La Gringa, Queso and Classic tacos and great music round out the perfect evening. They fill up fast so don’t forget to make a reservation.

Sancho’s on the marina in Cabo San Lucas is the locals choice for Taco Tuesdays. It’s an all day event running from 9:00AM until 11:00PM. 2 X 1 tequila drinks, 3 X 2 tacos and live music. How about one of their famous Pink Tacos and a refreshing Bulldog? Sancho’s on the Marina

Curious about the origins of the taco?

The taco predates the arrival of the Spanish in Mexico. There is anthropological evidence that the indigenous people living in the lake region of the Valley of Mexico traditionally ate tacos filled with small fish. Writing at the time of the Spanish conquistadors, Bernal Díaz del Castillo documented the first taco feast enjoyed by Europeans, a meal which Hernán Cortés arranged for his captains in Coyoacán.

So when in Rome, do as the Romans do and when in Los Cabos get your Taco Tuesday game on!
